Current Projects

Green LMI is working on several innovative projects for its diverse client base.

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory has commissioned Green LMI to conduct a national labor market analysis of the solar installation workforce.  This large primary research study will provide keen insights into the supply and demand of installer occupations in the Solar PV and Solar Thermal industries.  The report will also include data on employer preferences and challenges, training needs and requirements, and other valuable workforce information.  The report will be complete in the fall of 2010.

The Solar Foundation has hired Green LMI to conduct a national labor market assessment of so-called "upstream" solar occupations.  The report will include primary and secondary data on R&D, manufacturing, wholesale trade, and utilities.  The project's goal is to determine the size and scope of the solar industry in the United States and will be available in the fall of 2010.

The California Community Colleges' Center of Excellence Initiative has hired Green LMI to consult on a Hybrid and Electric Vehicle occupational study for the San Francisco Bay Region.  This report will address the workforce needs for automotive repair shops, dealership service departments, automotive fleet managers, and body shops as a result of new automotive technologies.  The report is due in July 2010.
