Green LMI is currently working on an in-depth review of the U.S. solar installation workforce for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.  This report will include employment forecasts, skills analysis, employer preferences regarding training and education, and other pertinent information from over 1,400 solar firms throughout the nation.  The report also includes specific findings for solar installation occupations including installers, electricians, plumbers, and sales representatives.  It is due out this fall.

Green LMI recently completed a comprehensive overview of the U.S. solar workforce for The Solar Foundation.  The report includes job growth forecasts for the entire workforce, including installers, manufacturers, wholesale trade firms, utilities, and others.  Download the full report here.

Green LMI is currently conducting a Green Construction study for San Diego County, which is a joint project between Cuyamaca College and the San Diego Workforce Partnership.  The study will review the impact of green policies and practices on local construction firms and their workers, and will also address the preferred training options for workers with new green skills.  The report will also include information concerning municipal inspectors and their current and expected training needs to keep pace with new and changing requirements.  The report is due in December 2010.

This summer, Green LMI released its phase two (of three) report on California’s Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) sector. This report included valuable economic and workforce information on the importance of ICT sectors and workers to the California economy.  The full report can be downloaded here.
